Anything goes for January

Come one, come all.

Show us your crafting projects. This motivator is open to all craft types; paper craft, baking, sewing, crocheting, drawing, etc. If it's creative and you want to show it off please come back in January to show us what you made.

Since the Holiday Season is always chaotic we will leave the upload time open for 7 days, from January 1st to January 6th.

Till then, Happy Holidays and a safe Season.

Part two of the November challenge

Well, I really dropped the ball on this one. I am so sorry. I thought I had already posted the second half of the November challenge.

The second half of the challenge is to show what projects you were able to create with the package or the kit you assembled in the first part of the challenge. We also want to see pictures of what you had left in your kit after your challenge ended.

Due to the fact that I oopsed big time, we will extend the deadline to the end of the day on November 3rd.

Happy November everyone.

Update to "What is to come for November"

We have received a few concerns from our readers and we have decided to extend the kit submission deadline to September 30th. You will notice the new date by going to the original post.

We hope that you will join us in this challenge.

If you have ideas for other challenges or motivators, we would love to hear from you.

What is to come for November

As we move forward with this blog we realize that, one, we need a new name. PJ challenge doesn't capture the essence of this blog. We created the blog for a place that friends, no matter where we may live, can show off our creations as well as a place which motivates us through deadlines and challenges, to get our scrapbooking "to do" list checked off.

We welcome all of your suggestions for a new blog name and possible tag line.

The second realization was, how boring is it to have the same two motivators alternate meeting after meeting. With that said, we have a new motivator, nay, a challenge for you.

Your two-part challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to put together a kit.

The kit would consist of:

- 6 sheets of paper (maximum)
- 5 stamps (maximum)
- 4 inks, dyes, or paints (maximum)
- 3 types of embellishments (as many of each type as you want)
- 2 ribbons or something similar
- 1 drink of choice (water, homemade lemonade, tea, coffee, wine, etc.)

You will put the kit together and submit a picture of your chosen items by September 22nd. The link will be open from September 4th to the 22nd.

On November 1, you will come back and show us the cards and/or tags you made with your kit as well as a picture of what you have left of your supplies - did you manage use them all? The sheets of paper in your kit will not only decorate your cards and tags but they are also the base for the card and/or tag. You can use whatever other items or tools not listed above but you cannot exceed the maximum number of paper, stamps, inks, dyes, or paints, embellishments or ribbons.

When you are done with your kit - all we want to see is paper dust and ribbon threads - if you can do it!!! Be creative and use it all!!!

Good Luck!

September Motivator

September motivator is intended to be a little more challenging than the July presentation. The presentation requirements are the same. However, you will need to include a new technique in your layout or cards. Please refer to "New Technique" for more information.

The New Technique motivator may push your comfort level, allow you to see your supplies in a new way and possibly refresh your scrapbook or card making style.

With this presentation, you will also include instructions so that readers may try it too. The instructions can be as simple as providing the link to a youtube video or online instructions you followed. If the technique is your own creation, then you will need to provide the instructions in any format, written or video.

Here is an example of a new technique that I found, tried and love. It gives new dimensions to my paper projects.

Tim Holtz tattered florals

We can't wait to see your creations.

The upload link will be available from noon (EST) on August 31st until noon (EST) on September 2nd.

Have a fabulous summer and Happy Paper Crafting!

Let us know if our Motivator participants would benefit from adding a focus? Let me explain,
  • Anything Goes - focus on getting our paper projects done
  • New Technique - focus on experimenting with a new technique or product
  • Just Add (the new one) - focus on adding the appointed element - a tag, flowers, circles, etc.
Twice a year we would choose an element that would need to be included in the layout or cards.

Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
